MEQUON, Wis. -- A bald eagle that had made a nest in Mequon is found dead.

The eagle had been living with another bald eagle along Lake Michigan for two years.

They were the first pair of bald eagles to nest in the Milwaukee area in more than a century.

The DNR said a resident found the eagle Sunday afternoon.

The bird is being taken to the Wildlife Health Lab in Madison in order to discover why it died.
